Pattaya Beach: Stretching some 4 kilometers, Pattaya beach is the major venue from where boats head to the islands offshore. The curved beach in north to south direction is fringed with tree lines, shady promenade path and beach road. The beach itself is actually divided into three parts, North, Central, and South Beaches-each with its typical environment and atmosphere.
North and Central Beaches are not as bustling as the South beach; they offer relatively serene and relaxing ambiance with shady footpath along the clean sandy beach which is good for taking a walk, jogging or cycling around. The South beach is the most vibrant and dynamic all day all night. It is the heart of the city, teemed with bars, restaurant, hotels, shopping complexes, and etc. Several kinds of water sport gears are also available for rent on the beach.
Nakleua Beach: Immediately north of Pattaya, is much quieter with a fishing harbour and local population making a living from fishing. It doesn't have as many restaurants or expensive resort hotels as it's neighbour to the south, nor the rowdy nightlife, but all these are available for the a 10 Baht ride into Pattaya beach. (About 20 minutes by Songtaew - the local style taxi)
Jomtien Beach: The six- kilometer-stretch of sand lies some 4 kilometers south of Pattaya. The beach is less congested and offers the quieter ambiance. It also becomes popular with water sport activities, especially windsurfing because of its long straight coastline and fewer boats in the sea. There are several types of accommodations available here. Like other areas, there are still bars, restaurants, clubs which cater you at night but less vibrant.
Wong Phra Chan Beach: This is a small beach with its peaceful atmosphere, stretching one kilometer in length. Its serene ambiance makes it the ideal place for those who long for complete relaxation and privacy. It is located on the northern side of Pattaya Bay.
Bangsaen Beach: Around 13 kilometers from the city of Chonburi. Very local Thai style with drinks and seafood snacks such as dried squid, mussels and spicy steamed-fish-cakes for sale from the street vendors along the sea front. Deck chairs and rubber rings can be rented. The many restaurants that line the beach have recently been improved to become more neat and orderly. Bang Saen offers several hotels and bungalows.
