Sihanoukville Cambodia (Kampong Som) is about a 3 hour bus ride southwest of Phnom Penh. It can also be accessed by boat from Koh Kong where overland visitors from Thailand first arrive. There are many islands off shore, various kinds of beaches and points that can accommodate snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving and just lounging around.

Some beaches are more accommodating with restaurants, vendors, chairs and shade. Most beaches are just a short ride from the center of town and all can be seen in a day.   One day you might want tranquillity and another to visit and mingle with other visitors.
